“Kurt contradicted himself a lot…. There were times when he loved being a rock star because of the fans, media coverage, money, and guitar endorsements. There were also times when he wanted to quit music permanently because he missed his friends in Seattle, Frances, and liked when people treated him like a… damn person. 1993 and 1994 is kinda hazy for me but I remember him adjusting to the attention better. He was starting to like autographs! [Laughs] He started talking to fans more, too. I remember after one show he talked to a group of guys for an hour! His death has remained surreal for me. I don’t know what happened those last two weeks that made him snap. There are days where I still can’t believe he’s dead which in hindsight it [clears throat] sounds stupid of me to even say because it’s been so long.”
